kicked off a fewmonths ago, when I joined Fluid Management
as General Manager for the Americas, and I believe that there
is a lot to do for strengthening and expanding our presence in
this region. For this reason, I’ve hired Marcos Magoni as sales
director for Latin America, who will be based in Brazil, and also
Filipe Prata as our newmarketing manager to coordinate our
efforts in all of the markets that we serve and leverage our fiel-
ds of expertise. In addition, we have started a series of internal
initiatives to improve our competitiveness and technical servi-
ce. We are building a new organization, and by these signs of
commitment I mean to send a clear message to our customers
and partners: we are here to stay and to succeed,” says Fluid
Management’s General Manager Neil Brinker.
Since 2007, Fluid Management has had a partnership ar-
rangement with Vitoria e Cia. Ltda., which is currently the
company’s exclusive distributor in Brazil. “One of our global
strategic goals is to increase our presence in the region, and
Vitoria e Cia. plays a major role in this endeavor thanks to its
personnel’s experience with the industry and outstanding kno-
wledge of both the market and our products. I have no doubt
that by enhancing our cooperation, aligning our strategies and
providing the necessary resources we are paving the way for
success. On the other hand, IDEX Corporation has an office in
São Paulo and a new sales director dedicated to the region, who
will be working from our local offices,” Brinker announces.
The world has turned its eyes to Brazil as one of the countries
with the best growth opportunities, and Fluid Management
is no exception. “Brazil is the world’s 6th largest economy and
is about to host the two most important sporting events on
the planet. All of the investments that will precede and follow
those events, combined with the political stability that has
been achieved in the past few decades, will create exceptional
growth potential and opportunities. We want to be a part of
this by investing, expanding our presence and helping to build
a stronger country and economy with our technology and
knowledge,” Brinker concludes.
Awards - Sherwin-Williams Awards Best Suppliers of
the Year
The 16th edition of Sherwin-Williams’ Supplier Performan-
ce Assessment System Awards took place on November 9 at
Terraço Itália, a landmark in São Paulo. The purpose of the
awards is to stimulate the excellence standard of services
provided by its suppliers, thereby impacting the quality of the
company’s products.
Sherwin-Williams evaluates its suppliers and determines the
winners based on five key factors, namely, process quality, pro-
duct quality, lead times, billing, and customer service. Using
quarterly reports, both Sherwin-Williams and its suppliers get information
on their performance and any actions that they need to take. “The award
is a means to encourage all suppliers to keep up the quality of their services
with the same degree of strictness, and it is the consumers who win. On
the other hand, we want to help our suppliers grow and develop their
business,” stresses Hermes Antônio de Campos, director of operations at
Sherwin-Williams, who adds that the awards carry with them a great deal
symbolism, including the very venue where they are presented. “Terraço
Itália is one of the tallest buildings in São Paulo, and so we brought our
best suppliers to the top.”
The award presentation ceremony was attended by leaders of the industry’s
most important trade associations, such as Dilson Ferreira, chief executive
officer at Abrafati (short in Portuguese for Brazilian Association of Paint Ma-
nufacturers), Paulo César Abrantes Aguiar, chief executive officer at Sitivesp
(Portuguese abbreviation of Union of São Paulo State Paint and Coatings
Industries), and Claudio Conz, president of Anamaco (short in Portuguese for
National Association of Dealers in Construction Materials). In fact, Conz deli-
vered a lecture entitled “The Market Dynamics in Building and Construction
and Challenges for 2013,” and showed a positive scenario for Brazil’s paint
market next year. “As the income and employability indicators rise, they bring
bright prospects for sales of construction materials, including paints. We
expect this market to growmore than 10 percent for 2013,” he says.
