CMP’s sales directorAdrianoMarsondoes not believe ingrowth
for thisyeareither. “2015will bequiteahardyear,butweexpect
to keep thriving. Since ourmove toCajamar, SãoPaulo, we’ve
beenworkingonaprojecttoreduce internalcosts,CMPhasmade
massive investments to purchase state-of-the-art, high-speed
equipment,wehavemigratedourprintersfromthermaldryingto
UVdrying,wehavereducedour lossrates,andwehave improved
ourproductivity.Thatallwoundupshorteningthe leadtimeofour
products,whichboostedourcustomersatisfaction levels, causing
us to increaseourmarket share in2014, andweexpect thesame
for2015.CMPhasalwaysfocusedourstrategiesonservice.Weare
recognizedforthat.”

entire industry,accordingtoMarson.“Withoutprofit, the industry

AccordingtoMetalgráficaItaquá’ssalesexecutiveRafaelFer-
nandes,thepackagingindustry,likealmostallothers,entered
this yearwith everythingonhold for governmental action
towardsresumingeconomicgrowthandprovidingfinancialas-
surancesforcompaniesandconsumers,sothattheformercan
pursuetheirstrategies.“Atthistime,weareworkingwiththree
scenarios,butwehavenotyetdecidedwhichmodelweare
goingwith.Themarket,forthemostpart,hasbeenbehaving
morecautiouslyonthebuyers’side,whichmeansbusinesses
arekeepinglowinventoriesduetotheuncertaintiesdisplayed
bythemarketplace.Duetothissituation,ourcompanyexpects
veryslowgrowthforthe industry.”
