ABRAFATI PREVIEW 72 | PAINT&PINTURA | Outubro 2017 BRASKEM Braskem is launching three solvent brands at Abrafati 2017. “Braskem Ezolem is designed for companies looking for environ- mentally friendlier products that deliver high performance and excellent cost-benefit ratios. It’s synonymous with reliability and partnership for producers of intermediate chemicals, thinners and paints, as well as adhesives for the footwear, furniture and other industries. Itsmain features are high performance, stability, and the presence of lighter, low-odor solvents that pose a low riskof contamination. BraskemPluract, on theother hand, is for companies in themarket for performanceproductsboastinghigh solvent power, low evaporation, and easy application. It’s a novel solution for customers in the chemical industry that produce crop protection products, industrial and decorative coatings, and casting resins. Its main properties include high solvent power, low evaporation - which makes it easy to apply and reduces losses - good appearance and gloss in paints, and good leveling in coating films,” Claudia Madrid, head of sales for the Solvents business, stresses. Lastly,ClaudiaintroducesBraskemSensitis,anothersolventbrand.“Formanufacturerswhorequirehigh-performance,high-purity, colorless and odorless solvents. Applications include personal care and home care products, protective oils, lubricants, waxes and silicones, as well as several industrial uses such as metalworking and effluent treatment. Its main properties are high purity, whichmakes themodorless and colorless solvents, low concentration of aromatic compounds, and flexibility for formulation.” BRCHEMICAL Supplying customers in theUV-curing segment with specialty chemicals like photoinitiators, monomers, oligomers and stabili- zers, while alsoprovidingequipment andprocess control systems froma comprehensive rangeof radiometers and radiometric services, BRChemical is expanding its UV-curing portfolio and branching out into newmarkets, according to its director Sergio Medeiros. “Our highlights for Abrafati 2017 include polymeric photoinitiators and cationic photoinitiators for UV curing, as well as the Rad-Color line of pigment dispersions for UV systems and the Florstab stabilizers for clear coats and pigmented coatings, includingmetallic finishes. In the radiometrybusiness,we’re showcasingour LEDCureL395 radiometers for LED-curing coatings, and the UV Power Puck II Profiler, which enables users to view the irradiance profiles of UV-curing coatings. For water-based systems, we are exhibitingwaxes, PUdispersions, matting agents, water-repellent agents, pigment dispersions, and surfactants, whereas for solvent-based systems we are bringing polyethylene, carnauba, high-density polyethylene and modified polyethylenewaxes. And last but not least, we’re exhibiting theMicrofast HP line of performance organic pigments, available as yellows, oranges and reds, Kromapearl line of pearlescent pigments, and the Microfast Mmetallic pigments.” BRENNTAG Brenntag Química currently boasts one of the largest product portfolios in the chemical distributionmarket, workingwith leading manufacturers in the industry and offering diverse options from specialty chemicals to commodities, according to technical coor- dinator Ricardo Almeida deMatos. “Our search goes on for newoptions for our customers, always in linewith their requirements and market trends. To this point, new products are being introduced at Abrafati 2017 which further expand the range of possible formulations for our customers, including new resins and additives, for example.” Matos points out that the company is also promoting the comprehensive portfolio of chemical distribution services it provides, which are underpinned by Brenntag’s robost logistics, safety and sales system. “We are also highlighting the full technical support Brenntagprovidesforthecoatingsindustry, whichcompletelyextendstoourcustomers’developmentactivities, withcontributions ranging from solvent analyses to the development of new formulations to the conduct of wet abrasion, salt spray, UV aging and chromatographic tests. During the trade show, our guestswill beable tosee inperson the functionalityof theproductswedeal in.” BYK During Abrafati 2017, BYK is launching an extensive series of environmentally friendly performance additives, according to Mauricio Cunha, of the Paint Additives Technical Service. “We are emphasizing the Disperbyk-2080 and Disperbyk-2081 wetting and dispersing additives, designed to stabilize components in aqueous coating systemswithout negatively impacting the water, corrosion or stain resistance, Disperbyk-2158 and Disperbyk-2159, additives that provide outstanding dispersion and stabilization of matting silicas for conventional solvent-based as well as UV-curing systems, the Disperbyk-2062 additive for waterborne universal colorants, and Disperbyk-2205, a solid additive used to stabilize organic and inorganic pigments in various solvent-based and UV-curing applications.”
