Águia Química
Águia Química, a sponsor to the
Abrafati trade show, will bring
the new developments in its
resins line, launching, among
other products, AQ-1651, an
anionic aqueous dispersion of
a 100-percent acrylic elastome-
ric copolymer that can be used
as a binder in paints and elas-
tomeric primers, rubber effect
paints, waterproof coatings, etc.,
delivering high water absorption
resistance, low dirt pick-up, great
film resilience and good pigment
dispersion.
Also being introduced by Água
Química is the AQ-1640 resin, desig-
ned for use as a binder in water-ba-
sed road marking paints, featuring
high water absorption resistance,
good hardness, abrasion resistance,
rapid cure, great film formation
and long durability.

Brazilian business, part of the Águia
Participações holding company, and
a leading supplier of raw materials
for decorative paints, road marking
paints, furniture and industrial
coatings, producing alkyd, acrylic,
polyester, amine, tar, polyurethane,
phenolic and water-soluble resins,
epoxy esters, UV-curable resins, mo-
dified oils, pure acrylic and styrene
acrylic emulsions, vinyl emulsions,
and elastomeric emulsions.
Air Products
Air Products will bring newly laun-
ched epoxy curing agents and spe-
cialty resins, as well as the Surfynol,
Dynol and EnviroGem multifunctio-
nal surfactants. From the new range
of polyamides, the highlights are
Ancamide 221, 221x70, 261A, 351A
and 2652, featuring great flexibi-
lity and corrosion resistance, the
latter enabling refinish intervals
of up to 12 months between coat
layers. The second new family is the
range of water-based curing agents,
consisting of Anquamine 287, 419,
721 and 731, Anquawhite 100 and
Ancarez AR555.
Air Products will also be launching
multifunctional additives from its
Surfynol, Dynol and EnviroGem
lines of surfactants. The new line
of pigment dispersants and wetting
agents for water-based formula-
tions is ZetaSperse, available in the
ZetaSperse 1200, 1600, 2300, 2500,
3100, 3400 and 3700 versions, all
free of ethoxylated alkylphenols and
solvents, designed to wet, disper-
se and stabilize a wide variety of
pigments. Also on display will be
the family of molecular defoamers,
consisting of Surfynol R DF-110D/
DF110L, Surfynol MD-20, Surfynol
500S and Surfynol MD-600S, and
the family of ethoxylated alkylphe-
nol-free surfactants, comprising
Carbowet 100, 106, 109, 13-40 and
DC01.
In addition, Air Products will provi-
de two lectures during the Congress,
one on the customized wetting
agents and dispersants technolo-
gy for optimizing performance in
water-based coatings, and one on
new polyamide technologies for 2K
epoxy systems.
Akzo Nobel
By participating in the trade show,
Akzo Nobel intends to develop the
Iguatu brand of resins for decorati-
ve paints, industrial and automotive
refinish coatings. For novelties, the
company will introduce acrylic re-
sins and resins for power coatings.
Akzo Nobel will take the opportu-
nity to hand out the new edition of
its product catalog, contemplating
not only new products, but also
updates on the company’s existing
alkyd resins. The company will also
be providing information for all
customers.
Aldoro
To meet market requirements,
Aldoro’s product development
efforts are constant. At Abrafati,
the company will introduce new
options within each of its product
lines, such as:
- Stanlux Silver – Cutting-edge non-
leafing aluminum pastes for use in
automotive coatings, both OEM and
refinish, and other performance
coatings. The highlights in this line
are very clear metallic effect pig-
ments, silver-dollar pigments and
economy options.
- Stanlux Paste – Leafing aluminum
pasts with differentiated gloss and
non-leafing aluminum pigments
with effects clearer than conventio-
nal ones. These products are desig-
ned for formulations of industrial,
protective and maritime coatings,
decorative paints and printing inks.
- Stanlux Gold and Stanlux Pell Gold
