CLIPPING PAINT&PINTURA | Outubro 2017 | 9 INTERVIEW - “ADDING VALUE” TO COATINGS THE MOTTO OF ABRAFATI 2017 Expected to receive around 12,000 visitors, the 15th edition of the Abrafati International Coatings Congress and Inter- national Exhibition of Coatings Industry Suppliers is taking place from October 3 to 5 at São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, located at the 1.5-kmmarker on Rodovia Imigrantes, in São Paulo, where it is together leading compa- nies of the industry and thousands of professionals interested in gaining knowledge and making deals. The main focus for the trade show is on ways of adding value to coatings, which will be highlighted at the booths as well as the presentations taking place at the Congress. Involved are a total of 193 exhibitors and a broad technical and scien- tific program for the Congress comprising 90 lectures to be presented over three days, four plenary sessions with per- sonalities of great relevance, plus a few dozen papers at the Poster Session, as well as a seminar on radiation curing, held in conjunction with RadTech South America, and a seminar on responsible consumption and use of solvents. More than 800 people are expected to attend the Congress, for a total of 150 studies being presented. At the opening plenary session, Francisco Rácz, co- -owner of consulting firm Rácz, Yamaga & Associates, with 40 years’ experience in all paint, coatings and related market segments in Latin America, addressed the theme “Projections for the Coatings and Related Markets in Brazil and Opportunities in Bahia”.
