The modified alkyd resins launching during the Abrafati Congress are Glicexter2220M60BR, for formulations requiring excellent color retention and fast drying, and Glicexter4027X70BR, for fast drying and far superior weathering resistance relative to what you get from conventional resins.” Freitas is also showcasing new developments in short, medium and long oil resins. “Our highlights here are Glicexter2727X- 50BR, a short oil resin for coatings designed for industrial andmetalworking applications, the Glicexter4028T82 mediumoil resin for decorative and industrial coatings, featuring great drying properties and outstanding yields, and Glicexter5640BR, a long oil resin designed for printing ink applications, which can be combined withmelamine to result in products with high brightness and color retention. From among our polyester resins, the main highlight is Glicexter3420M70BR, a modified polyester for 2K refinish primers with great sanding properties.” COLORMIX ESPECIALIDADES Colormix Especialidades is introducing innovative solutions from the producers of the pigments, additives and specialty resins it distributes, according to its CEOCarlos Fernando de Abreu. “BYK is launching a great series of new, environmentally friendly, high-performance additives, including the Disperbyk-2080, Disperbyk-2081, Disperbyk-2159 and Disperbyk-2062 wetting and dispersing additives, the BYK-Silclean 3701, BYK-326 and BYK-3565 surface additives, the Optiflo T1010 rheology additive, the Aquacer 1013 and Aquacer 1039 wax additives, and the BYK-1781 defoamers.” Abreu announces that Eckart, a global producer of metallic pigments, aluminum pigment pastes, pearlescent and effect pigments, is introducing Silvershine 400, Edelstein Ruby Red, and Metalure Quantum. “Alberdingk Boyle, a producer of water-based resins for coatings, adhesives, printing inks and plastics, is stressing its UV-curing resins for waterborne sys- tems. Ferro, a producer of inorganic pigments, is showcasing its range of titanate pigments, cobalt chrome greens, cobalt alumina blues, cobalt chrome alumina blues, photoluminescent pigments, ultramarine blues and violets, and iron oxide pigments. Toyo Color is a producer of high-performance organic pigments for printing inks, with plants in Europe and Asia. Hoffmann Mineral, a functional filler producer, is showcasing its comprehensive range of calcined and encapsulated Neuburg siliceous earth products in various particle sizes. Also in attendance are our traditional distribution partners Jeco, Ruicheng, Choksi, Yipin, Briscent, Pidilite, and DCC.” COLORNET Colornet has grandnewdevelopments for Abrafati 2017, according to its director Marcos Raicher. “Our highlights are the Silberline range of aluminum pigments, and Sparkle Silver Elite, with a mir- ror effect and simpler to apply, leading to excellent cost-benefit ratios. A new line of cost-effective yet assured-quality pigments from Silberline China is also launching at the trade show. We are also showcasing the pearlescent pigments from CQV Korea, especially the launch of the Adamas alumina line for automotive coatings, which is a more economical option while providing a fantastic effect.” Raicher says that Colornet has also begun to represent a range of performance pigments from Czech-based Synthesia. “It’s also worthpointingout that our rangeof additiveshasbeenexpanding.
