Syloid 4009, for its part, is a silica product designed for use in coatings for indoor environments where both soft touch and high stain resistance are desired.” Villani says that for UV-curing paints and varnishes, formulators can now rely on two new silica gel products, Syloid 740 and Syloid RAD3007.“Thesearehigh-performancemattingagents.Botharerecommendedforformulationsthatseektoprovidefinisheswith high clarity and gloss below 10 units. The two of them also deliver excellent viscosity control during the process. Touching on the themeofcompetitivenessandsustainabilityinthepaintandcoatingsindustry,wehaveintensifiedourmarketingactionstopromote Sylowhite SM 405, a precipitated amorphous sodium aluminum silicate used as a titanium dioxide extender, delivering enhanced brightness and color stability, and contributing to reducing the specific gravity of the paint and the total cost of the paint job.” HUNTSMAN ADVANCED MATERIALS For Abrafati 2017, Huntsman Advanced Materials is promoting Ara Cool, a new range of curing agents for the industry, for use in low-temperature-curing coatings, according to marketing analyst Marcos Jaime. “Designed to improve curing speeds at temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C, Ara Cool allows formulators to meet the demand for faster processing in either cold or unstable weather that exists in various industry segments. One other product in the spotlight at our booth is the Aradur 3064 performance curing agent, featuring excellent chemical strength and outstanding drying properties.
