ABRAFATI PREVIEW 90 | PAINT&PINTURA | Outubro 2017 MOMENTIVE Momentive is exhibiting its comprehensive CoatOSil range of additives, the Silquest silanes, and the Spur+ prepolymers, designed tomeet the demanding requirements of the paint and coatings industry, aswell as adhesive and sealant producers, according to André Victor Danc, Silanes marketing manager for Latin America. “The products we are highlighting include the CoatOSil 2816 additive, a modified silicone copolymer that can improve slip properties and increase scratch resistance in a variety of both water- and solvent-based coatings, and CoatOSil MP 200, a 100-percent active epoxy silane oligomer that can be used as an modifying additive for water-based latex paints to increase wet abrasion resistance in decorative paints for interior and exterior environments.” Danc also cites the CoatOSil 1211C products and the CoatOSil T-Cure silane. “CoatOSil 1211C is a fluorine-free, organomodified silicone that boasts unique super wetting properties in water-based coatings for applications where wetting is hard to achieve. The CoatOSil T-Cure silane can be used in virtually all coating formulations where a mercapto silane is desired to react with isocyanate, epoxy and acrylates, which can result in coatings with greater hardness, high corrosion resistance, and adhesion to galvanizedmetals. This silane oligomer is low-odor compared to standardmercapto silanes and can display a triple reactive chemistry. In addition to thiol groups, silanol and diols are generated upon silane hydrolysis.” NETZSCH Themain newdevelopments fromNetzsch for the 2017 edition of Abrafati are the Epsilon dispersion systems, for producing homogeneous dispersions in an inline process, and the NEOS grinding system, according to sales manager Paulo Reuters. “Epsilon is a compact solution for producing homogeneous dispersions with reproducible quality in an inline process. Here, the dispersion process takes place in an atmospherically sealed processing chamber and is thus dust and emission free.” Reuters says that the NEOS system, based on the well-known and established Zeta grinding system, has been designed and developed to optimize the grinding process. “Its newdesign enables the highest power input without overheating the product, as it has a new rotor for an efficient power input, and it can be used with extremely small grinding beads, ranging from 0.1 to 0.8 mm in diameter, all combined with an efficient cooling system. The NEOS technology is available for new equipment on the Alpha platform, and as an optimization package for Zeta grinding systems.” NEUMAN & ESSER Neuman & Esser is part of the German-based group NEA and has been present in the Brazilianmarket for over 40 years with its headquarters in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. “All of the knowledge amassed in the course of 186 years of existence working with non-metallic minerals has enabled our company to adjust its equipment to market requirements. Our impact classifier mills, or ICMs, achieve high productivity rates, combined with low energy consumption and a set-up designed for ease of equipment maintenance, as well as the ability to produce particle sizes from 99.9%<100µm to 99.9%<10µm,” says sales engineer Roque de Moraes Mendes Torres. Torres adds that Neuman & Esser continuously works at improving its grinding and classifying material, and that the nine patents it has registered in the past 10 years demonstrate that. “This evolution is aimed at adding efficiency to our custo- mers’ mineral beneficiation processes.” NITRO QUÍMICA Nitro Química, a global producer of nitrocellulose products and nitrocellulose-based specialties, is bringing several new developments for Abrafati 2017, according to Felipe Subtil, marketing manager. “Investing handsomely in research and innovation and supplying products to customers around the world, the company is showcasing to our visitors solutions designed to further optimize their customers’ operations and processes and improve the performance of their products.” Subtil says that for the packaging segment, the NQ System+ 100 line of semi-finished products is among the new develo- pments. “Consisting of nitrocellulose and a polyurethane resin, it is the leading technology for flexo and gravure printing inks. NQ Purpack is a line of lamination adhesives for flexible packaging applications which boost the chemical interactions between the printing ink and the adhesive. Lastly, Nitro Química is introducing a new product for automotive refinish coatings - NQ System 5002, which intensifies nitrocellulose properties for application in primers, where it reduces drying times and increases the thickness for the formed film, which makes for improved filling and sandability.”
