published its full coverage of the International Coatings Expo held inDallas, Texas
(USA).
Paint&PinturaMagazinefirstparticipated inthe ICEback in1997,when itwasheld in
Atlanta,Georgia(USA),andhasbeenpresentatallmajordomesticand international
eventsever since.
The year 1999marked Paint & PinturaMagazine’s third time at the ICE, when 45
countrieswere representedat theshow,whichhad7,334visitors,plus345suppliers
takingupamore than25,000-square-meterexhibit space.
As in thepreviousyears, notonlydidPaint&Pintura’sbooth turnout tobeameet-
ingpoint forBrazilianvisitors to the show, it also receivedmany international ones,
including several executiveswho received themagazine in their countries of birth.
During the ICE, representativesofBrazilianpaintmanufacturersattendedameeting
at Trail Dust SteakHouse,whichwasheld in the same city that hosted the showby
MillenniumInorganicChemicals,currentlyknownasCristal.Inaddition,onthe lastday
of the show, BASF took theBrazilianvisitorsona tourof itsproduction site located
inHouston, Texas (USA).

Starting thismonth, LuizAntonioPereiraMartinhoandAlbioCalveteRottaarenow
membersof theCenter for IntelligenceandKnowledge (CIC, theacronym inPortu-
guese), a virtual office thatwillworkonprojectsof extreme relevance to thepaint
and coatings industry, such as compiling and publishing data of interest to paint
manufacturersand their suppliers, aswell asservicesandanysuchotherprojectsas
mayguide investments in themarketplace.

The Center for Intelligence andKnowledge has already completed its first project:
thepublication“IndustryOverview:DecorativePaintMarket”. It isagroundbreaking
studyof thepaintmarket inBrazil, Chile, ArgentinaandUruguay,with statisticdata
compiledby industryexpertshiredbyAgneloEditoraforthissolepurpose,whoareCIC
members.Thishighlycomplex,comprehensivepaperrepresentsan indispensabletool
whichprovideskey information thatwill influenceyour company’sdecision-making
processandcontribute to itsstrategicplanning for the region.
Oneother pieceof new coming from theCIC is the creationof thePaint&Pintura
Coatings Trade Course, whichwill visit several Brazilian regions to provide people
with training in thevarioussegmentsof thepaintmarket, suchasdecorativepaints,
automotiverefinishcoatings, industrialcoatings,printing inks,andprotectivecoatings.
