With 12yearsof existence, BioFragane isengaged in thebusiness
ofmanufacturingessencesand fragrances, colorantsandadditives
for paints and coatings, paper, household cleaning supplies, texti-
les, cosmetics, perfumes, chemicals at large, etc. The company is
located inPontaGrossa, Paraná, in a 10,000-square-feet property
withabuilt-upareaof 2,200 square feet,which includesextensive
laboratory facilities. “Wehave 20employees, fiveofwhomwitha
degree inchemistry.Wesupplycustomersall overBrazil, including
through sales representatives in the statesofGoiás, Tocantinsand
MatoGrosso,theNortheastregion,andeven inUruguay,Paraguay,
Peru,EcuadorandAngola.Weserveourcustomers inParaná,Santa
CatarinaandRioGrandedoSul throughSolloRepresentações.We
haveamodernquality control laboratory staffedwith trainedand
qualified individuals. Our rawmaterials come from safe sources
andare renowned in theworldmarket,”saysCélioValenga,of the
technicalsalesdepartment.
At the time of Bio Fragane’s foundation, therewere no growth
ambitions. “We originally invested to set up a small distribution
business.However, thechemist inme longed toproduce, andso it
was that Ibegan tocreatesomeessencesandpigments for tinting
systems.Oneyear later,weevolvedandacquireda largerarea for
our company, and beforewe knew, we had taken up the entire
property.Sowedecidedwehadtoexpandabitmore,andthatwas
whenwepurchased thepieceof landadjacent toours.Wecarried
out theentireexpansionproject, andnowwehave justcompleted
anewbuilding,”Valengatells.
Approximately40percent of themarket servedbyBioFragane is
concentratedintheessencesegment,withessencesforthecosmetic,
householdcleaningandcoatingsindustries.“Manyofourcustomers
useessences in latexpaintsand solvents toneutralizeundesirable
odors, andwe alsoprovide essences toneutralizeodors inwater
treatmentplants.Inaddition,wealwaysseektocreatenovelproducts
sowe cangainmore andmore ground in themarketplace. Paint
additivesaccount for theother60percentofourbusiness,andwe
haveanongoingcommitment toprovidequalityproducts. In fact,
we’vehiredaqualityconsultanttohaveourentirecompanyadhere
togoodmanufacturingpractices,”Valenga informs.

logySeminaratitsIPEN-USPheadquartersinSãoPaulo.Thepurpose
oftheseminarwastoexpandknowledgeandexchangeinformation
ononeofthefastgrowingbranchesoftheradiationcuringfield.
The seminarwas attendedbymany professionals and companies
whodevelop anduse the technology in their day-to-daybusiness.
Theywere able to learn about new developments, trends, and
challenges facing their industry. “All attendees left theeventwith
muchmore informationandenrichedtheirknowledgetothat
theycanadvancemoreandmorewiththetechnologyand its
applications. The seminar had 52 registered attendees, and
we’llbeholdinganothereditiononMarch 12, 2015,whichwill
probablybeamajorseminarbecauseeightregistrationshave

order tomeet the requirementsof eachapplication, thereby
achieving itsmaingoal,which istopublicizeandspreadthera-
