PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT: MILLS, DISPENSERS AND MIXERS CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGIES FOCUSED ON COST-BENEFIT RATIOS New production equipment brings to paint companies numerous benefits, fromenergy savings to reduction of for- mulation costs to shortermanufacturing times to process optimization. For the most part, the world is moving toward industry 4.0, where processes are more interconnected. Paint com- panies still need to raise the level of automation in production processes and, to that end, it is essential to acqui- re automatic equipment, according to Fernando Itaziki, Inkmaker’s regional sales manager for Latin America. “The Inkmaker group is aligning itself in this direction, offering today a very com- plete range of equipment, services and engineering of paint plants. In addi- tion, with the recent acquisitions of the Inkmaker group, such as Rexson, Vale-Tech and Tecnopails, we expect to see our share in the production equipment market to grow signifi- cantly this year. Expectations are very good, we are in a year of adjustments and consolidation, in which we will certainly grow.” Roque de Moraes Mendes Torres, sales engineer at Neuman & Esser, continues to believe in selling technical solutions in a way that is not focused on the sale of the equipment itself, but also covers knowledge of the process as a whole, from the feeding of the raw material to the delivery of the end product. “Industry 4.0 is also another trend and, for this reason, the NEA group has crea- ted the ‘Digitals’ division, which allows customers to use technology as the main way of automating tasks, storing data and making industrial processes much easier.” Accordingly, Neuman&Esser’s expecta- tion for 2020 is extremely positive, first because he believes in the real resump- tion of economic growth in Brazil and, secondly, due to the success achieved in 2019, according to Torres. “Last year, we hit the new machine sales record since we opened up for business in 2012. Another encouraging point is there are large number of projects that have been pent up since 2015, which was the height of the political crisis in Brazil, and those projects are being resumed based on principles of cost reduction and process optimization through te- chnology—typical of NEA equipment,” Torres concluded. DISTRIBUTION - NEW IDENTITY In 2020, Interbrasil is celebrating 25 years of operations and, with that in mind, the company decided to rebrand the group. “We can see and feel our main values intrinsic to the business emblazoned into a new visual identity. Thus came Intercroma,” announces officer Marcelo Barbosa Lima, adding that with this rebranding will lead to no change for its customers. “High quality products, structure and outstanding service remain the same qualities that made the company recognized by the market as one of the best suppliers in Brazil. We have always been a constan- tly evolving business, always improving processes, systems, services and pro- ducts. In that sense, the rebranding is another evolutionary step by a company that won’t stop.” Intercroma has been doing business in the Brazilian market in way that adds highquality products and services throu- gh an efficient and, at the same time, sustainable business model, according to Lima. “We learn, analyze and look for new ways to deliver the best to our valued customers, shareholders, em- ployees and partners. Our dedication, integrity and focus havemade us recog- nized as one of the best titaniumdioxide distributors in Brazil for the past four consecutive years at one of the most prestigious awards in the industry.” COLORMIX ESPECIALIDADES CELEBRATES EXPANSION Colormix Especialidades is celebrating its new phase in comprehensive, very well equipped facilities located in Barue- ri, São Paulo (Brazil), where it increased its storage capacity in an area of 7,000 square meters, employing a total of 55 people. “We began our journey in 2011 in a small space in SantoAmaro, São Paulo. As early as 2013, we set up our facilities in Santana do Parnaíba, where we run a tight ship with the BYK laboratory and 1,300 pallet port positions. However, as we kept growing, the space became small, so, in 2017, we started looking for a new location for our company. That was when we found this area located in Tamboré, Barueri, São Paulo, with large facilities built on it, where we doubled our storage capacity to 2,330 pallet port positions,” says CEO Carlos Fernando de Abreu. The new site comprises two warehou- ses, a storage areawith covered platfor- ms, a conference room, an auditorium for events and training activities, as well as laboratories, integrated sales, financial and administrative depart- ments, samples etc. “Today, we have expansive facilities within an industrial condominium that has provided quality of life to all our employees. Before, the departments were located in different places, and here we can have everyone together in one place, where our em- ployees can integrate better and have a better qualityworkplace,” Abreu tells. TECHNOLOGY - PARTNERSHIP USHERS INTO BRAZILIAN MARKET SINGLE-WALL CARBON NANOTUBES OCSiAl started out in 2009 aiming to de- velop a scalable production technology for single-wall carbon (graphene) nano- tubes.
