CLIPPING PIGMENTS - COLOR TECHNOLOGY A major player in the pigment, colorant and dispersion seg- ments, Transcor was born 25 years ago, when its founders decided to start up a business entirely focused on colors. “In the early days, we’d only do sales, but the 1998 corporate res- tructuring process added huge strength to our company and diversified our product range. Together at the helm all along, though, were I, managing director Antonio Carlos Saeretti, sales director Robson Luis Fernandes, and manufacturing di- rector Julio Luiz Delboni. That way, each of us performs their primary duties, and together we have turned Transcor into a company boasting one of the most comprehensive ranges of organic and inorganic pigments, colorants, dispersions and complements on themarket in Brazil,” saysmarketing director Roque Guimarães Antunes. In 1998, the company started looking for foreign partners from which to import products to sell in Brazil. “That was the watershed moment, as we started to envisage dealing in a series of products. We went to China and India in 1999 and were able to strike a few partnerships. Since then, we’ve taken annual trips to Asia to reaffirm our strong ties to major manufacturers. Our two main suppliers are in China - Hongda andWuxi. We also have partners in India - Jaysynth andMallak - and South Korea - First Color - which are key players in the organic pigment market,” Fernandes points out. As Transcor’s business grew, the factory expanded until it had tomove elsewhere on three occasions. “Wewere originally ba- sed in São Bernardo do Campo, in the Greater São Paulo area, where we stayed for five years. Then we moved to Diadema, São Paulo, but, again, five years later, we had to get a larger space. We stayed in Diadema, ate this same address only since 2004. We currently take up an area of 8,500 square meters, with a build-up area of 6,500 square meters, and we employ around 110 people,” Antunes concludes.
