At its Cubatão unit, the company
has the SACL (South America Center
Laboratory), an advanced labo-
ratory complex for carbon black
research and development. Colum-
bian has recently opened a new unit
in Camaçari, Bahia, with capacity
of 75,000 tons per year, where a
state-of-the-art carbon black plant
is located.
The company’s most famous pro-
ducts are Copeblack450/Statex300
for flexo/gravure printing, the
Raven760U/Raven1255 offset prin-
ting inks, the Statex125/Raven14
industrial coatings/enamels, and the
Raven 5000UII/Raven410 automoti-
ve coatings.
Companhia Metalúrgica Prada
Companhia Metalúrgica Prada will
launch at Abrafati 2009 the Safe
Can 3.6 canister, which displays a
differentiated shape that enables
full use of its contents. The product
has a lid with an exclusive seal and
is self-stackable. The seal stands out
for its practical closure system that
makes the product tamper-proof
and easy to handle, while allowing
for interaction with the customer’s
label for being available in several
colors.
Coremal
Coremal started last April to distri-
bute the pigment line from Cappel-
le, a Belgian family-run business
that has been in the market since
1890 as a producer of organic and
mineral products with plants in
France and Belgium. In addition, all
of its products are developed in its
own laboratories and stand out for
their quality and high performance.
Cappelle provides alternatives for
such market segments as decorative
paints, industrial coatings, printing
inks, masterbatches and others.
Coremal has a local inventory at
its Cotia branch, São Paulo, and
manages direct imports for Cappelle
customers.
In addition to
Cappelle products,
Coremal will be
showcasing its entire
product range there.

warranty for the pumps. It is a also
a more energy-efficient technology,
and that makes the equipment more
environmentally friendly, reducing
costs at shops. The technology is
also available in Brazil in the Ta-
tocolor, D600 Extra and D800 HD
models.

coatings market, as today’s only
producer of titanium dioxide in
South America.
In addition to its strong presence in
