PAINT & PINTURA
the Dynasylan Sivo line, for VOC-
free formulations.
Other additives on display include
the launch of the Tego line: Tego
Airex 944, a de-aerator for epoxy
and polyurethane floor coatings,
Tego Foamex K8, an environment-
friendly alternative to mineral oils,
Tego Dispers 670, a new dispersant
for organic and inorganic pigments,
and Tego Glide 485, a slipping and
anti-blocking agent; as well as the
Silikopon EC silicone epoxy resin.
The main launch in the range of
cross-linkers is Vestagon EP-HA
376 for hydroxyalkyl amide powder
coatings. Another highlight is the
new Vestagon EP-SC 505 catalyst for
matte polyester/epoxy systems.
Galstaff
Galstaff Multiresine provides a
wide range of resins and auxiliary
chemicals that can meet most of
the requirements coming from the
coatings industry. Galstaff has been
doing business in the international
market for more than 50 years, re-
gularly supplying customers in more
than 35 countries with over 35,000
tons of resins per year and opera-
ting laboratories in Millan, Italy.
The company’s strategic interest
in the Brazilian market has been
yielding good results, as has its
commitment to keep high quality
standards, competitive prices and
consistent products, combined with
the technical support provided by
its entire team of professionals.
Galstaff has an endless range of
products for paints, enamels and
varnishes, such as saturated polyes-
ter for two-component systems,
aromatic and aliphatic catalysts,
unsaturated polyester (dual core,
either UV or Redox-cured), high-per-
formance oligomers for ultraviolet
curing, specialty alkyd resins with
fatty acids, urea-formaldehyde, me-
lamine, benzoguanamine, surface
additives specifically designed for
each suggested formula, master-
batches, special waxes for scratch
resistance, and a line specifically
designed for high-solids, low-VOC
systems to reduce both solvent
emission in the environment and
the number of layers to be applied
to the surface, consistent with the
European standard that is already
in force in some countries under
Directive 2004/42/CE.
Gehaka
During Abrafati 2009, Gehaka will
exhibit its comprehensive range of
three-roller mills from Germany-ba-
sed Exakt, ideally suited for mixing
high-viscosity fluids, dispersing
pigments, homogenizing, reducing
particle size and de-aerating.
The Exakt three-roller mill can bre-
ak down all kinds of dust clusters,
thereby reducing particle sizes. That
creates quality, very easily dispersi-
ble substances (with very small par-
ticles). In addition, it is appropriate
for a large range of viscosity values,
ranging from products with visco-
sity as low as 200 cP to quasi-con-
tinuous pastes as high as 1,000,000
cP, resulting in low material loss,
low operating costs, easy cleaning
and a high-quality end product.
Other products to be emphasized by
Gehaka at the trade show include
analytic and semi-analytic sca-
les, agitators, infrared humidity
analyzers and melting point meters,
among others.
Grupo Amtex
Amtex, a Latin American producer
of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC),
will participate in Abrafati 2009
in partnership with its distributor
Intercom. At a 73 sq. mt booth, the
company will showcase its Tixotrol
line for the paint industry.
The group combines quality pro-
ducts with environmental preser-
vation, great service and the best
technical support for its customers.
GSI Creos
GSI Creos Brazil will introduce to
the South American paint and co-
atings market the materials that it
imports from Japan. Nippon Polyu-
rethane Industry will emphasize its
Coronate HXR and HXLV additives
and other products that can be used
to produce anti-yellowing polyu-
rethane coatings with excellent
weather resistance.
Kyoeisha Chemical will exhibit its
state-of-the-art paint additives,
which are safe, environmentally
friendly products that employ
cutting-edge technologies developed
all over the world.
Nisshinbo will bring to the trade
show its water-based cross-linkers,
which are non-toxic, highly reacti-
ve, reacting with active hydrogen
compounds, and can be cured either
at room or high temperatures, de-
pending on the desired curing time.
They are free of organic solvents.
Huntsman
Huntsman Advanced Materials
provides an extensive, innovative
product range for the industry in
the industrial and maritime coa-
tings, automotive coatings, powder
coatings, decorative paint and pa-
ckaging printing ink segments.
The company will showcase several
products at the trade show: Aradur
3986, a curing agent that represents
cutting-edge technology in water-
based epoxy systems for anticorrosi-
ve and protective coatings, featu-
ring outstanding corrosion resis-
tance, short curing time, long and
visible pot-life and zero VOC; the
new Aradur 3218, a curing agent
for high-solids or solvent-free sys-
tems, featuring low viscosity, short
curing time and great blushing
resistance, under low temperature
and high humidity conditions (5ºC,
85% relative humidity);
and Aradur 3805, a waterborne
curing agent designed for epoxy for-
mulations curable at room tempe-
rature that can be formulated with
both modified and non-modified
epoxy resins, providing long pot-
life (in excess of 5 hours), excellent
gloss, good abrasion resistance and
great performance on humid or wet
concrete.
Huntsman will also participate in
the Congress with a technical paper
entitled “Water-based binder for
