lines), highly hydrogenated hydro-
carbon solvents which reduce odor
and the content of aromatic com-
pounds. Driven by the same trend,
the company will also exhibit the
Solbrax NEO MIX (Solbrax NEO MIX
87) line of aliphatic, naphthenic and
oxygenated solvent blends desig-
ned to replace aromatic solvents in
paint and varnish formulations. For
news, the company will be demons-
trating the second generation of the
NEO MIX line, designed to replace
heavy aromatic solvents, such as
xylene and AB-9.
In addition, Petrobras Distribuidora
will launch the Parabrax EM GRAF
42, a product designed by Petro-
bras consisting of a paraffin wax
emulsion in aqueous medium with
a mean solids content of 42 percent
(p/p). It is compatible with most wa-
terborne systems and features good
stability at room temperature due
to the presence of wetting agents in
the formulation, and can be used as
a slipping agent in thin set mortars
for easier application, smoother
spreading and coating film water-
proofing, and as a water repellant
in textured coatings, enhancing im-
perviousness to water in the coating
film, while making it more durable.
Petrotan
Petrotan will be introducing several
new products at the trade show,
such as recycled drums for trans-
portation of hazardous products
which are duly certified by the
relevant agencies, available with
fixed lid, for storage and transpor-
tation of liquids, and removable lid,
for storage and transportation of
products with higher density.
The company will also highlight
some of its services, such as the
disposal of metallic containers con-
taminated with paint, which are all
incinerated, compacted and finally
disposed of appropriately, as well
as the washing and restoration of
1,000-liter containers.
Petrotan will also provide a lecture
on environmental awareness, stres-
sing that there many companies
which are licensed by the CETESB
(São Paulo State Sanitation, Tech-
nology and Environmental Preser-
vation Agency), but do not dispose
of their waste properly, hence the
importance of conducting audits at
their waste disposal sites in order to
check the facilities and documenta-
tion. Last but not least, Petrotan is
expected to receive its OHSAS 18001
certification in November.
Polystell
Technicians and formulators at
Abrafati are welcome to visit
Polystell, at a booth especially set
up to provide quality information
on the company’s existing pro-
ducts and newly launched additive
lines. Through a virtual laboratory,
visitors will be able to learn about
Polystell’s proven solutions for ma-
nufacturing environments.
The Polystell additives are suited for
water-based, solvent-based or UV
systems alike. In addition, the com-
pany provides a diversified product
range for decorative paints, as well
as automotive, industrial and other
coatings. Highlighted products
include the Polyapp 2848 mineral
oil-based defoamer, and the Plyadit
5799 solvent-based dispersant for
printing inks.
Also to be exhibited are products for
specialty coatings, such as Polyvell
3857, for UV-curing and decorative
paints, Polyadit 4831 and 4814, for
slurries, where they make the paint
easier to process and handle.
In line with the theme for the trade
show, “the paint of the future,” the
Polystell will introduce Polysmell
7739, which eliminates the un-
pleasant smell of paint from the
environment.

Prodismaq has been engaged in
meeting the specific requirements

introducing the latest addition to
its product range for the paint and
coatings industry: Solsperse X300,
a hyperdispersants from Lubrizol
Advanced Materials for pigments in
UV coatings.
Also to be showcased at the show
are performance organic pigments,
hyperdispersants, vinyl resins, spe-
cialty acrylic emulsions, low-odor,
environment-friendly solvents, and
curing agents for epoxy resins in
waterborne systems.
