reactive pigment dispersant for UV
curing,” the lecture to be delivered
by Mr. Slongo is on a product that
provides the benefit of not migra-
ting to the surface and, as a result,
stabilizing the system for participa-
ting in the polymerization reaction.
Química Roveri
The highlights of Química Roveri’s
product exhibition for Abrafati 2009
are the products from its represen-
ted companies, namely: Nae Woi
Korea, with three generations of
opaque polymers for decorative
coatings and fast-curing acrylic
resins for use in water-based road
marking paints; Shamrock, with
PTFE, PP and PE waxes, as well as
preparations containing them, for
application in coatings requiring
abrasion and scratch resistance,
textured effect and reduced gloss;
Bentec, with the Viscogel organo-
philic clays for use in solvent-based
paints and coatings as an anti-
settling and anti-slip agent, as well
as nano-clays; BASF, with pigments,
effect pigments, colorants, pigment
preparations, the Joncryl resins,
industrial resins, and Efka additives;
and Supercolori, with soft-touch
effect pigments.
Quiminutri
Quiminutri will introduce an adhe-
sion promoter for substrates con-
sidered difficult. It’s the Omnilane
ADD 1300 phosphor acid modified
methacrylate.
In the additives line, the company’s
innovations include an optical bri-
ghtener called Omnistab OB, used
in several kinds of coatings, and the
Omnivad MATT PS5 matting agent
for UV-curing coatings. Quiminutri
will also exhibit the Omnipol line
from IGM Resins, consisting of low
molecular weight polymeric photoi-
nitiators featuring low migration
and low odor. For formulations
requiring low odor, Taiwan-based
AGI Corp. will launch a line of
toluene free monomers, comprising
AgiSyn 2811 (TMPTA), AgiSyn 2815
(TPGDA), AgiSyn 2816 (HDDA), and
AgiSyn 2833 (DPGDA).
In addition, Quiminutri will intro-
duce AgiSyn 2871, a high refraction
index monomer for applications in
optical media. For powder coatings,
AGI Corp. will stress AgiSyn 2828
(GMA), a high-purity, bi-functional
glycidyl methacrylate monomer
consisting of both an epoxy group
and methacrylic groups.
Reichhold
Reichhold will participate in Abra-
fati 2009 as exhibitor, sponsor and
speaker. Some of the launches to be
exhibited are designed to provide
solutions for environmental and te-
chnical performance issues, such as
the Beckosol Aqua line of VOC-free
alkyd resins produced by a process
that employs cutting-edge techno-
logy to create a polymer in aqueous
emulsion with a large renewable
content for application in the cons-
truction and manufacturing.
Also to be launched is Arolon
850W45, new generation of styrene
acrylic resins for a variety of subs-
trates, featuring great versatility
and low VOC to meet the various
requirements of construction and
manufacturing businesses. The
company will also showcase the
Epotuf 37684 and Epotuf 37143
epoxy systems, and the Urotuf F
87 MPW33 modified urethane oil
dispersion.
New technologies will also be on
display with high solids, aimed at
reducing the use and emission of
organic solvents, such as Beckosol
15-254, a pure, high-reactivity alkyd
resin featuring outstanding gloss
retention and great compatibility
with phenolic alkyd resins.
In addition, Reichhold will intro-
duce solutions for several other
applications, such as Beckosol 13-
421 60X, Resafen 17-644, Polylite
UV 10-634 MF, and Arolon 21-031,
as well as other new additions to
the Beckosol line, for metallogra-
phy and offset printing, and the
Fine Clad line, for powder coatings
applications.
Rentank
Rentank will participate in Abra-
fati 2009 with a range of hard and
flexible containers. The Minitank
division will be displaying certified
stainless steel IBCs with capacity
ranging from 500 liters to 1,500 li-
ters for storage and transportation
of liquid products, whether or not
hazardous, in the food, pharmaceu-
tical, cosmetic and paint industries,
while providing information on its
Inmetro-certified container decon-
tamination and periodic inspection
services.
The Flexotank division provides
demountable stainless steel, carbon
steel and polypropylene tanks for
storage and transportation of liquid
and viscous products in the chemi-
cal, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic
and paint industries.
Rentank also has the following bu-
siness units: Macrogalpões (storage
sheds); Maxtenda (tents for events);
Sulinox (milking machine and milk
coolers); and Tiger Rentank (offsho-
re logistics equipment).
Resinas Yser
The year 2009 has been a time of
structural change and growth for
the Yser companies since it made
two major investments to expand its
capacity. In Brazil, Resinas Yser has
increased its production capacity to
30,000 tons per year of its new line
of resins and additives for printing
inks. In Portugal, Euro-Yser will
increase its capacity to 55,000 tons
per year.
Abrafati 2009 is the first edition of
the trade show in which Yser will
participate. Therefore, for the bene-
fit of all visitors, as well as its part-
ners and the market in general, the
company will exhibit at its booth
an analysis and application labora-
tory specifically designed for testing
products in a variety of formulation
and production systems.
